Introduction: Welcome to walllet.com (“walllet”), a non-custodial wallet service provided by PrimeUp LTD (UAE) (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Cookie Policy explains how walllet uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website and related Services.

This Policy is intended to be read together with our Privacy Policy. By using our website, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this Policy, unless you disable them through your browser or our preference center.

In regions where consent is required (e.g., EEA/UK), we do not set non-essential cookies (analytics, marketing/attribution) until you provide consent via our cookie banner.

We want to be transparent about what data is collected via cookies and how you can control it.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, smartphone, etc.) when you visit them. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the site owners. Cookies can have various functions: remembering your preferences, enabling certain features, analyzing how you use the site, and personalizing content or ads. Some cookies last only for your session (until you close the browser), while others persist for a set period or until deleted.

In addition to cookies, we and our partners may use similar technologies like web beacons (tiny graphic images embedded in webpages or emails) or local storage (browser-based storage) for similar purposes. In this Policy, we collectively refer to all these as “cookies” for simplicity.

Cookies can be categorized by their origin and purpose:

  • First-party cookies: Set by the website you’re visiting (in this case, walllet.com).

  • Third-party cookies: Set by a domain other than the one you’re visiting, usually when the website incorporates elements from other sites (like analytics scripts or social media plugins).

We use both first-party and third-party cookies on walllet.com.

2. Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your user experience, to enable certain functionalities of the site, to understand and improve how our site is used, and to support our marketing efforts in a privacy-conscious manner. Specifically, cookies help us to:

  • Ensure the website functions properly: Certain cookies are essential for core features. For example, if we have a login session or a user settings feature, an essential cookie would keep you logged in or remember your settings. They also help with security (e.g., preventing cross-site request forgery attacks by storing a token). Without these cookies, our site might not work as intended.

  • Enhance performance and analytics: Cookies allow us to collect information about how visitors interact with our site, such as which pages are visited most, how long users stay, and if they encounter errors. This data is aggregated and anonymous, but it provides valuable insights to improve site content and performance. For example, we can use it to optimize navigation or fix frequently encountered issues. Analytics cookies also help us gauge the success of communications by seeing overall traffic patterns.

  • Remember preferences: We may use cookies to store preferences you set. For instance, if our site has a dark mode toggle, a cookie might save that you prefer dark mode so that it’s enabled on your next visit. Similarly, cookies may remember language selection or that you closed a pop-up so it doesn’t show again. These functionality cookies improve convenience and personalization.

  • Marketing and Tracking: Currently, walllet’s use of cookies for marketing is minimal (we are not running targeted ads on our site). However, we might use cookies to track the effectiveness of any marketing campaigns or to prevent showing you the same promotional banner repeatedly. In the future, if we partner with advertising or affiliate programs, cookies could be used to ensure we credit the appropriate source (for example, if you came to our site via a partner link). Targeting cookies, if used, would collect information about your browsing to tailor any marketing more relevant to your interests. We commit that any such use will be respectful and will not involve sharing personally identifying info without consent. At present, any advertising you might see (like generic info about walllet) is not personalized using cookies.

  • Fraud detection and security: Cookies can help us identify irregular site behavior. For example, to detect if a series of requests might be coming from a malicious bot versus a human, or to throttle usage to protect from DDoS attacks. Some security features rely on cookies as identification tokens.

By using cookies for these purposes, we aim to make walllet’s web experience safe, efficient, and user-friendly. We do not use cookies to collect sensitive personal information or to pass data to data brokers.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

For clarity, we have categorized the cookies we use on walllet.com into a few categories. This classification aligns with standard categories:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for the operation of our website. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and accessibility. Without these cookies, services you have asked for (like accessing secure areas or remembering items in a cart, if applicable) cannot be provided. Characteristics: These cookies do not collect information for marketing purposes or remember where you’ve been on the internet. They are usually set in response to your actions, such as logging in or filling out forms. Example: A session cookie that keeps you logged in as you navigate between pages. Lifespan: Many necessary cookies are session cookies that expire when you close your browser. Some might persist for a short duration (e.g., a few days) to remember settings.

  • Performance/Analytics Cookies: These cookies collect aggregated information about how visitors use our site. They allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve website performance. They help us know which pages are popular or identify if any page is encountering errors. All information these cookies collect is anonymized or aggregated. We use these cookies to improve user experience; for example, understanding that a certain feature is rarely used might indicate it’s hard to find and needs redesign. Example: Google Analytics (_ga) cookie which provides a random ID to distinguish unique users (without identifying who they are). Lifespan: Depending on the cookie, anywhere from the session to 6-24 months. Google Analytics cookies typically last 6 months to 1 year unless cleared. We have configured Google Analytics to anonymize IP addresses so that the last octet of your IP is masked, further protecting your identity. If you opt-out, these cookies will not be set.

  • Functionality Cookies: These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization on our site. They may be set by us or by third-party services we’ve integrated. Functionality cookies remember choices you make (like your username, region, or preferences) and provide enhanced, more personal features. Examples: remembering your language preference, or if we provide a demo mode and you toggled certain settings. Lifespan: They may persist longer than a session so that your preferences are remembered on subsequent visits, typically a few days to a year. If you disable these cookies, some of these preferences will not be saved. However, our core service should still function; you just might have to set preferences each time.

  • Targeting/Advertising Cookies: These cookies would be used to deliver content (including ads) that is more relevant to you and your interests. They might be set through our site by advertising partners (if we had any). They can track your browser across websites to build an interest profile. Important: As of this Policy’s last update, walllet.com is not running personalized ads, and thus we are not actively setting third-party targeting cookies. However, if you came to our site via an advertising campaign or affiliate link, a cookie might be used to note that referral (for attribution). In the future, if we do engage in targeted advertising, we will update this Policy and obtain appropriate consents. Potential Example: If we used Google Ads remarketing, a Google Ads cookie might log that you visited our site so that we could show you a walllet promotion later on Google’s network. Lifespan: Targeting cookies can persist from a few weeks to a couple of years, depending on their purpose. You can control these via browser settings or opt-out tools like the Network Advertising Initiative site.

  • Third-Party Cookies: Some cookies on our site are placed by third parties on our behalf. For example, when we embed a YouTube video on a help page, YouTube might set cookies. Or our Intercom chat widget might set a cookie to keep track of your chat session. We ensure any third-party we allow is vetted and their cookies are covered by our consent management. Examples of third-party cookies on walllet.com may include:

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*, _gid) – site performance and usage analytics with IP masking enabled.

  • PostHog (e.g., ph_*) – product analytics to understand feature usage and improve site performance.

  • AppsFlyer (e.g., af_*, where web attribution is used) – campaign/install attribution, anti-fraud, and performance measurement.

  • Intercom cookies (intercom-id-XXXXX, etc.) – to manage your chat session and remember you between visits so you don’t have to reintroduce yourself every time you open support chat.

  • Cloudflare or similar (if used for security) – sometimes set a cookie like __cfduid to identify trusted web traffic.

  • Social Media share buttons (if present) – might set cookies if you interact with a “share” or “follow” widget. (Currently we have no such plugins, but that could change).

We provide a cookie consent banner when you first visit, allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can also review the specific cookies in use via our Cookie Preference center on the site (which lists each cookie by category, name, provider, and purpose). We want you to have clear information on this. In EEA/UK, we cap the lifespan of non-essential cookies to no more than 13 months.

4. Your Choices: Managing and Disabling Cookies

You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies, aside from those strictly necessary for the site to function. Here are ways you can manage cookies:

  • Cookie Consent Tool: On your first visit to walllet.com, you’ll see a cookie banner explaining that we use cookies and providing a link to adjust settings. Non-essential cookies (analytics, functionality, targeting) are not set unless you opt-in by clicking “Accept” or choosing your preferences. If you clicked “Reject all” (or similar), we ensure no analytics/marketing cookies run. You can always change your mind by accessing our “Cookie Preferences” link (usually in the footer of the site). This will bring up our cookie settings where you can toggle categories on or off. Keep in mind, if you disable certain categories, your experience might be affected (e.g., we won’t know what’s going wrong on the site without analytics).

  • Browser Settings: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. You can set your browser to block or delete cookies – either overall or from specific sites. For example, in Chrome you can go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data, and choose to block third-party cookies or specific sites. You can also clear existing cookies via your browser. Be aware that if you clear cookies, any preferences controlled by those cookies (including our cookie consent choice) will be reset. There are also options like “do not track” (though as noted, our site doesn’t respond to DNT signals by default).

  • Opt-Out Tools: For analytics, Google provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics tracking: the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Installing this will prevent Google Analytics from collecting data on any site that uses it (including ours). Similarly, for interest-based advertising cookies, industry groups provide opt-out pages, such as the NAI’s opt-out page or Your Online Choices (EU). These let you see which participating companies have cookies on your browser and opt out of them en masse. Note: This typically works by placing an opt-out cookie, so if you clear all cookies, you’d need to do it again.

Please note that essential cookies cannot be disabled via our consent tool because they are necessary for the website to function. However, you can still disable them in your browser (in which case parts of our site might break). For example, if you blocked all cookies through the browser, you might not be able to log in or your preferences may not be saved.

If you disable or delete cookies, the site may not remember your preferences on future visits (including cookie settings, ironically). We recommend at least allowing the cookie that remembers your opt-out choice, so that your preferences persist.

5. Cookies in the walllet Mobile App

This Cookie Policy primarily concerns our website usage. The walllet mobile application does not use “cookies” per se (cookies are a browser concept), but it may use analogous tracking technologies within the app (like using device storage or identifiers for analytics). For transparency: in the app, we might use something like Firebase Analytics or Expo analytics that uses the device’s advertising ID or a similar mechanism to track usage events. You typically control those via device settings (e.g., “Allow Apps to Request to Track” on iOS, or “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android for advertising IDs). Our use of any such mobile analytics is solely to improve the app, not to collect personal data for third parties. If you have questions about mobile tracking, see our Privacy Policy and feel free to contact us.

6. Updates to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The “Last Updated” date at the top will always indicate when the last changes were made. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. For significant changes, we may provide additional notice (such as a website banner or updated cookie consent prompt).

By continuing to use our site after updates to the Cookie Policy, you signify your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to any update, you should adjust your cookie settings or refrain from using our site.

If we introduce re-marketing or personalized advertising, we will first update this Policy and our consent banner to include a “Marketing” category and seek fresh consent where required.
